ABOUT BAMA ARCHITECTURE AND DESIGN

BAMA Architecture and Design is located in the Sellwood neighborhood in Portland, Oregon. Founded in 2007, BAMA A + D is a small firm that focuses on strong client and contractor relations. Our projects vary in size and construction type, and include public and private work. We specialize in senior living, cannabis, multi-family, and religious facilities. Our work is primarily derived from repeat clients and referrals, and we take pride in the fact that clients want to work with us again and refer us to their colleagues.

ABOUT THE POSITION

We have an immediate need for a full-time Architectural Project Manager who is passionate about architecture and interested in furthering their technical knowledge. This position will also serve in a leadership capacity and mentor younger employees.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage projects from feasibility and site selection through completion of construction.
• Lead and/or review project designs.
• Supervise and review staff construction document production.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, and contractors.
• Prepare land use applications and represent client at public hearings.
• Assist with permit review questions and apply for appeals.
• Provide construction administration including site visits, response to contractor questions, and review shop drawings.
• Assist with office management and decisions.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in an architectural firm, with at least 4 years of project management experience.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree from an accredited program.
• Architectural license is preferred but not required.
• LEED AP is preferred but not required.
• Residential care facilities experience is a plus.
• Sense of humor is greatly appreciated.
• Willingness to pitch in on all levels of the office.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD (REVIT preferred)
• Proficiency with Sketchup
• Knowledge of building, accessibility, and zoning codes.
• Ability to communicate well through written, graphic, and verbal formats.
• Advanced ability for creative problem solving.
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Leadership and mentorship skills and experience.
