Green Hammer is seeking a licensed Architect or Design Professional to join our creative and collaborative team. We are a Certified B-Corporation and a leading sustainable design build firm in Portland, OR. Through our Unified Design-Build Process, we deliver high-performance residential, commercial, and multi-family projects. We’re recognized as a leader in sustainable design and construction, with many of our projects certified to the highest green building standards including Passive House, LEED, net -positive energy and the Living Building Challenge.

The Opportunity

As a Design Professional or Architect at Green Hammer, you will be involved in a variety of projects from renovations, single- family residences, to multi-family and commercial developments—sometimes balancing several projects at the same time. You can expect about half your time to be focused on design and drawing production, with the other 50% of your efforts focused on project management. Depending on your experience, you will assist and/or lead the process of project design and management. Depending on the project scale, you will fulfill a variety of roles including Project Architect, Project Designer and/or Project Manager, and you will be engaged with projects from early Conceptual Design through Construction Administration. Green Hammer supports a hybrid work environment. While this role is primarily based in our Portland office and on project sites, team members may work remotely one to two days a week, subject to project requirements.

Required Qualifications

− Degree in Architecture

− 5+ years of professional work experience in Architecture

− Strong communication skills– verbal, written and graphic

− Creative and collaborative designer with ability to work independently

− Highly organized w/ ability to manage multiple priorities and projects

− Familiarity with sustainable and regenerative design with a drive to continue developing expertise

− Desire to grow professionally and take initiative; interest in project management as much as design

− Proficiency in Revit

Preferred Qualifications

− Architectural licensure

− Project management and project leadership experience

− Passive House knowledge

− Familiarity w/ code research, zoning analysis, technical detailing, consultant coordination, managing design project schedules, and construction administration.

− Proficiency in Enscape, SketchUp, Affinity Publisher (or Adobe InDesign), Microsoft suite, Procore, Smartsheet, BEAM Tool and Bluebeam software.

Compensation and Benefits

This is a full-time position offering a salary range of $75,000 - $95,000 based on experience, qualifications, and demonstrated capabilities with a comprehensive benefits package including medical, vision and dental coverage, a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) option, a 401(k) retirement savings plan, paid holidays and a progressive PTO program that increases with tenure.
