    Background

Hi. My name is Bryon. I am looking for a new employment opportunity and amhoping to join a team that is professional and dedicated to their work. I enjoy working on large Multi-Family buildings, residential projects, and teams who care about their work. I have a experience on high rise residential buildings, Memory Care and Assisted Living facilities, Retail, and Hospital’s. I have a very broad spectrum of experience from Schematic Design all the way through Construction Administration. I have a good understanding of building envelopes, detailing, understanding codes, and I excel at creating construction sets. I am proficient in Revit, Autocad, BluBeam, Enscape, and ComCheck – with experience in SpecLink (I like writing Specs while I put projects together, as this is the most efficient). I am very detail oriented and thorough. I understand how to coordinate with consultants, vendors, and other team members and can handle a large load of work, including working on multiple projects simultaneously, while meeting project requirements. I have a little over 5 years of Construction Administration. Please consider, and reach out to me for a copy of my portfolio. Thankyou For your Time, Bryon Yarges 714.955.3605 [email protected]

    Job experience

    • March 2016 - July 2023
      Intermediate Architect
      Ankrom Moisan Architects
      Portland, OR, USA

The firm that taught me the most. Ankrom is an open book for teaching, and they really do a good job of that. I fought hard to stay at this firm and it is very competitive amongst the team or people working under the principals. It seems to me that everyone that worked here loved the projects, as did I. Very hard job to let go of. In the end though, very appreciative of what they taught and what I learned. I have strong understanding of what it takes to run a large scale project from start to finish. From Fire Listings, Building Codes, Detailing, Construction Documentation, Assemblies, Accessibility, Construction Administration, and working with-in a team based environment.

    • December 2014 - January 2016
      Draftsman
      LRS Architects
      Portland, OR, USA

Worked on Hillsboro Public Works, car dealerships, and a commercial building. Learned a great deal about revit and detailing thanks to some committed staff. While the people are great and highly knowledgeable, I left looking for a place that I felt like I could fit in more.

    • 2007 - 2008
      Draftsman
      HPA, Inc.
      Irvine, CA, USA

I do not remember the exact months of start and being let go, but I was there for a little more than a year - perhaps a 1-1/2 years. I was let go during the recession. This was a very fast paced Industrial Warehouse firm, with project being submitted sometimes twice a month. Spent almost all of time creating warehouse layouts and site plans in autocad.

    • January 2005 - September 2006
      Draftsman
      Danielian Associates
      Irvine, CA, USA

Employment dates might not be entirely correct - but should be pretty close. This was the first architecture job I had, after receiving my associate degree. Great firm and better ownership. I am not sure I would have ever survived if it wasn't for their training. So long, as I came in at 5-6am they would train me in software to help advance me - few did this but I did. I cannot speak higher about their commitment to training and teaching young professionals - who really at the time still did not understand what it takes. Did everything in Autocad, and back than (at that time) they made me pretty good in photoshop which ultimately got me several jobs down the road.

    Education

    • University of Oregon
      Bachelor's in Architecture
      2010 - 2014
Great School. I still miss school. Might me some of my favorite years in architecture. Learning from an assortment of people who were essentially an open book if you wanted to learn. Left this school thinking I was going to change the world, like most of my friends here.
    • Goldenwest Junior College
      Associates
      2001 - 2003
Earned my Associates Degree in Architecture, began working as draftsman. Worked for many firms with experience in housing and industrial warehouses. Made the Dean's List with 4.0 GPA.
