      Background

I am a state of Oregon registered Architect with over twenty years of experience in design and construction on the west coast. As design lead for the exterior of the Serena Williams building at Nike’s World Headquarter I successfully managed, coordinated, and authored the refinement of the design, the CA phase documents; and the weekly review of construction for the largest and tallest building on the Beaverton campus. This innovative project is designed to attain a LEED Platinum rating. As the Project Manager for the "Goat Blocks" a landmark 3 block development in the Central Eastside of Portland with a construction budget of $84 Million, I led the completion of a unique facility in two separate development zones. Innovative clients solutions include: Reducing budget expenditure for a rooftop photovoltaic system at Clatsop Community College. Although the roof was only large enough to provide a 50kWh system, typically too small to be of interest to a third party; I was able to identify and coordinate an operating lease so that the $250,000 photovoltaic system that was installed with minimal upfront cost. Identifying and coordinated work to attain a $66,000 179d Federal Tax deduction for the Lane Community College Health & Wellness Center to offset capital gains. For Chemeketa Community College I coordinated outside grant funding for engineering to attain bulk air flow analysis which lowered the design EUI to 27 and achieved the goal of beating Energy Code by 60%. Other technical advancements that I was able to deliver include the first implementation of electro-chromic skylight glazing, the first use of phase change material, and a design for the highest effective R value exterior walls that had been built in Oregon on an SRG project. Even with these innovations the project came in under budget. https://archinect.com/people/cover/150240813/vaughan-reynolds
