Marketing and Proposal Manager

Portland, OR, USA Hybrid Full Time

BRIC Architecture is seeking experienced Marketing and Proposal Managers to lead the firm's pursuit, proposal, and marketing efforts. This role combines strategic thinking, persuasive storytelling, project management, and creative communication to position BRIC for continued growth and success.

Working closely with firm leadership and project teams, you will help shape and communicate our story while leading pursuit strategies that connect our experience, values, and expertise with client needs.

What You'll Do

As Marketing and Proposal Manager at BRIC, responsibilities will include:

Proposal Leadership & Pursuit Management

  • Lead the planning, coordination, development, and delivery of proposals and qualifications packages.
  • Manage pursuit schedules, work plans, and deliverable deadlines from kickoff through final submission.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, firm leadership, and subconsultants to gather, develop, and refine proposal content.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement requirements, submission instructions, and client-specific criteria.
  • Develop compelling proposal narratives that clearly communicate BRIC's experience, approach, and value proposition.
  • Edit and synthesize contributions from multiple authors into a cohesive, persuasive, and client-focused story.
  • Perform quality assurance and quality control reviews of all proposal deliverables.
  • Coordinate, facilitate, and support interview preparation, including development of presentation materials and coaching resources.

Marketing & Content Development

  • Develop a wide range of marketing materials that support strategic business development initiatives, including website content, social media, project profiles, award submissions, presentations, publications, and speaking opportunities.
  • Partner with firm leadership to ensure marketing and proposal efforts align with BRIC's strategic goals and brand standards.
  • Help maintain and enhance the firm's marketing content library, project information database, resumes, and related business development resources.
  • Support market research, client insights, and business development initiatives in collaboration with firm leadership.
  • Develop written and curate graphic content that effectively communicates BRIC's mission, expertise, and project impact.
  • Ensure consistency, accuracy, and quality across all written, visual, and digital marketing communications.

Leadership & Team Support

  • Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to marketing staff and proposal contributors.
  • Establish processes and best practices that improve proposal quality, efficiency, and collaboration.
  • Support project teams by providing structure, accountability, and communication throughout pursuit efforts.
  • Foster a collaborative environment that encourages creativity, professional growth, and shared success.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Business, Design, Architecture, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Four or more years of professional marketing, communications, proposal management, or business development experience, preferably within the architecture, engineering, construction, or professional services industries.
  • Experience managing complex proposals and coordinating multiple concurrent deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly InDesign.
  • Experience working with marketing databases, CRM systems, or content management platforms is preferred.
